Come monsoon and rains lash the city. I vividly remember the Ganges overflowing on my last visit. I like the drizzle on my face and relish a corn on the cob. A college student with a tight budget, unwinds while street shopping or trekking on the hills. I am young, raring to go and adventure draws me nigh. My cousins and I planned a Dusshera vacation... Goa here we come! Goa is the smallest state in India but its entertainment is large. Panaji is Goa’s capital and is renowned for its beaches, places of worship and architecture. Located in the Western Ghats range, it has rich flora and fauna. For visitors on a tight budget, the monsoon season is the best time to get good deals for travel and stay. We lodged in hotel Miramar in Panaji. We intended to have a taste of the night life and the disco. Welcome to the hippest, most happening entertainment destination in Goa- Casino Royale! Renowned to international standards it is the most gaming-friendly service in India. It has 50 gaming tables, 30 slot machines and skilled trainers to help one learn. First-timers can play free on the learning table! Dining aboard Casino Royale Goa is complimentary and unlimited. Five-star buffet menus of Indian and international cuisines with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are spread for everyone. Contemporary design and décor of the Aqua Bar is ideal for a night out. Churches in Goa have an aura of spirituality; they are open to one and all. I kneel down, say a prayer and thank God for all good things in life. The delicacies of the Konkan are lip smacking and the seafood on a platter tickles our taste buds. Not forgetting wine, cocktail or mocktail at the club or bar. A little pampering of my body with a massage at the shack rejuvenates me. Walking on the sands of the sea and a dip in the water feels so heavenly. And Oh! Parasailing was awesome and a ride on the Jet Ski was an experience of its kind. Come to Goa, come to Goa... fun and frolic galore! Old Goa : Visiting Old Goa is a must. It is an historic city, which was once the capital of Portuguese India. It is considered amongst the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Old Goa is a beautiful city full of churches and numerous historic monuments. It is considered as one of the best places to visit in Goa. As a student, I await the summer vacation to take a break from books and college. The routine of the day and loads to study can drain me at times. A holy dip in the Ganges or trekking the mountains on the Western Ghats, I like a vacation! I am a young, adventure enthusiast and enjoy life to the fullest. To get away from the hot summer, I love to cool off in the beaches of Goa, and indulge in some street shopping. Planning a trip with few of my female friends, we packed our back packs, and with the pocket money we saved we began our journey to the city that never sleeps. We friends chose a nominally priced hotel in Panjim as we were on a tight budget. Since we were close to the Goa University, we caught a glimpse of the campus. This University was designed by Satish Gujral, a sculptor, painter, muralist, architect and graphic designer. He faced criticism for the type of model in which this University was built. It is built in Panjim, the capital of Goa state. This building overlooks the Arabian sea and the famous Dona Paula a tourist attraction. The sprawling campus with all the greenery and fresh air is inviting. The university houses two centres namely Centrer of Latin American Studies and Caribbean Studies and Center of Women’s studies. The university is one of the must-sees while in Goa. We visited quite a few churches, did some street shopping and picked up clothes and junk jewellery for cheap. The Portuguese culture, cuisine, entertainment and theatre leave me asking for more. Goan cuisine has a wide variety of non-vegetarian dishes and vegetarian fare. We relished the fish curry and rice, prawn fry, mussels, soups and feni. Goans have music in their blood and why not I groove to some beats? So, I let my hair down and danced the night away in a disco. My friends and I thought we should try out the night club. We had a great time, eating, drinking and dancing while the music never stopped playing. What can one say about the ethereal beauty of Goa? There are no words that can describe the enchanting beauty of this place and one has to come here to witness it! I am an adventure loving person and I love to explore exotic places in the world and my top travel destination is the one and only beach paradise, Goa. My friends and I decided to visit Goa on a short trip since we had a couple of days off after the project. Being a lover of outdoor sports, I wanted to enjoy trekking in Goa and enjoy the spectacular views of the majestic Western Ghats. It was morning when we started climbing and the cool mountain air brushed away our stress. The spellbinding view of the enclosing vistas was an additional treat for our sore eyes! The next day, we all decided to visit the museum of Christian Art in Goa. If you are a lover of art, then you are in for a treat as there are many things to enjoy during your visit to the museum. We were amazed by the beautiful paintings, sculptures, and other valuable antiques. There is also a shop on the ground floor where we bought crosses, books, and other souvenirs. My friends wanted to go street shopping to buy some good stuff on sale. A few of my friends love jewelry and we were able to get some beautiful earrings, chains and bracelets at dirt-cheap rates. Further, we were also able to purchase bags, hats, and other beautiful items. As the silvery moon made its presence on the blue velvety sky, we all dressed up and went to experience the vibrant night life of Goa. The streets were flooded with light and almost all the bars were crowed with young couples. The sizzling night life of Goa made our trip a very enjoyable and unforgettable one. We hit the discotheque and danced our heart out to the peppy beats. The next day we started our journey back to our home saying a sad ‘Goodbye’ to this beautiful land of wonders! I will definitely come back to this little piece of heaven to spend my holidays again!
Park Hyatt Goa : Last year I decided to take a break after my exams. Therefore, I planned a trip with my brothers to Goa. We were stay at Park Hyatt Goa. This was the third time I am visiting Goa but the Stay at Park Hyatt made this trip the best one I ever had. I would describe it as the most elegant and luxurious hotel I have ever visited. Top quality service, spa, and food provided by Park Hyatt just so loveable.
Goa, the land of romance and beaches has always fascinated me from childhood. Being a student, I love to explore exotic places in the world and the place that always comes to my mind is the ever beautiful Goa. This tiny paradise has always been my favorite and whenever I get time to travel, I rush to this heaven! The thing that fascinates me the most about Goa is the vibrant night life and the fun that comes along with it. The all-night beach party in particular is something that one must enjoy when in Goa. I went on a trip to Candolim Beach Goa last summer and I had the best time of my life. From trekking to parasailing, water skiing to swimming, I enjoyed taking part in a variety of outdoor activities. The ravishing beauty of the Candolim Beach is something that I cannot express in mere words. The turquoise blue waters, heavenly ambience and hypnotizing natural views just stole my heart! During my trip to Goa, I visited some of the famous churches in town and also went street shopping for purchasing clothes and other accessories. I was on a tight budget, but still I managed to get some goodies to take back home! I got some local spices, jewelry, soapstone carvings, and much more to my delight! After shopping I decided to try some tasty treats at the local eateries and went in search of the best eatery in town. There were many eateries by the street and I was able to taste some awesome Goan street food. Later at night, I decided to hit the dance floor with my friends so we went to a nearby discotheque. The ambience was fantastic as the entire floor was crowded with dancers. The peppy beat of the songs and the bubbling party atmosphere made us enjoy ourselves to the core. In the morning, I packed my bags and said ‘goodbye’ to this magical place with a heavy heart. Even though my trip was a short one I still enjoyed a lot and I wish to visit this wonderful place once again with my family.
What can be better than a group of youngsters on a train travelling on board to a holiday?? What can sound more interesting than a fun filled travel plan! My student life has always revolved around tours and travel. Apart from exploring new places there has been a fantasy of photography which runs down my system! Pursuing this ardent desire, I often research various places to go like churches and other historic places. Socializing is one of my best attribute which keeps me always surrounded by people and adding flavor to this fact is my interest in attending classy parties in discos. One of the most memorable experiences I had was travelling with my friends in the Mas Vasco Express which led us from Chennai to Goa. Known as the party hub of India, the excitement of Goa had already begun to flow into our veins as soon as we boarded our train. We wanted to end our desperate wait very soon and step over in Goa. I must confess apart from the fun and frolic we had in Goa, we also had a great deal of enjoyment during the train journey. The whole journey right from start to finish gave me new horizons of self explorations as me and my friends met new people some with a familiar mindset and also did we reach out to different stations on the way learning and tasting cuisines of different places. The train had an amazing pantry car and food was never a problem for me on board. Further the journey was through several tunnels each making me screech in excitement. My journey on the Mas Vasco Express also featured through few fabulous scenic spots most of which were so enthralling that I found it unfair to even blink!I was kept busy with my camera capturing all the beautiful things that came by the journey! The train had a very young and energetic crowd and we could find great company as we played lot of games that kept the whole travel lively and entertaining! |
