Description : If travel were free, you’d never see me again.” I connect to this quote so much. Every year I try and save up money to go ahead and take a trip and tick off a beautiful destination from my travel bucket list. This year, I am headed to Bali Indonesia for the summer!
Mount Girnar Junagadh : My original trip to Gujarat was planned because a bunch of friends and I wanted to head for trekking at the majestic Mount Girnar of Junagadh. We hired a guide and had the most exhausting but thrilling trek up the hill. It was a highlight of visiting Gujarat and I have plenty of memories to file away.
After a lovely time spent at the Sivrajpur beach of Jamnagar I came back to spend my night at my hotel. The hotel which I had booked for this trip was Greenwoods Lake resort and Spa. The hotel is located on one of the busiest highways of Gujarat at Sardar Patel Ring Road. The hotel is one of the best in the city to spend a holiday with family or alone because of its superb infrastructure and amazing hospitality. The interiors of the hotel are one of the best I have seen and the lovely paintings adorn its walls. The hotel is full of state of the art facilities and services. The best part of the hotel is its own private lake which can be found inside the premises. The view of the lake from my room looked simply stunning. I booked for myself a Lake View room. The room booked by me was having all the modern amenities one expects from a five star rated hotel. It was having a colour television with satellite channels, comfortable bedding, designer furniture and air conditioner. The bathroom attached with it was also very nice with a lot of space and having Jacuzzi facility. The room service of the hotel also impressed me a lot.
The hotel had its own in house kitchen which specialises in delicacies from all over the world. There is also a coffee shop where one can hang out in the evening and try some light snacks and beverage. One can also try the bar for some wines and drinks. There is conference room for the corporates to host business meetings. Many other services are also provided by Greenwoods Lake Resort & Spa Ahmedabad like gym, pool side bar, spa and sauna centre etc. I spent yet night another wonderful night at my hotel in Ahmedabad after which I headed to Jamnagar for another days adventure. The next place which I visited in the city was the National Khijadiya Bird sanctuary which is renowned for housing and rearing a large species of birds, insects and animals from all over the world. Children are like a wet cement. whatever falls on them makes an impression. - Happy Childrens Day11/14/2015 Childrens Day Message : To be young is to have a clean slate and all the knowledge in the world to absorb. As children we are provided with valuable life lessons and wonderful teachings that help us. November 14th, a day to celebrate young children and their eager minds that are ever ready to learn!
Diwali message : Diwali is known as the festival of lights. It is a day of color, crackers, dances, beautiful clothing, sweets and all things happy. It is a Hindu festival that is celebrated all throughout the country. This year, on November 11th, I send my love and hearty Diwali wishes to everyone out there!
Gir Forest National Park Gujarat : No one goes to Gujarat and misses the famous Lion Sanctuary called the Gir Forest National Park. A bunch of friends and I decided to catch an early jeep to the forest to capture pictures of the lions. We were very lucky in this endeavor and got some lovely pictures of the lions and the lionesses.
The previous visits to Sabarmati ashram and Bhadra fort were good and informative to understand the culture and rich history of the state of Gujarat. The next place which I visited was the iconic landmark of the city of Ahmedabad known as Kankaria Lake. The lake is located in central part of the city and is one of the most iconic attractions of the city. The place is visited by thousands of tourists and locales daily to enjoy some time away from hustle bustle of the city life and the noises. The lake is an artificial water body which was built in the 15th century by the Sultan Qutubud din. The lake was built so that Mughals could spend some time alone with their consorts. There are as many as 34 sides to the lake and also a tiny island located in the middle which makes it even more appealing. Kankaria Lake serves as a good picnic spot for the locales of Ahmedabad. They were there in large number with friends and family. Boating facilities are also provided on the lake. NaginaWadi is a beautiful lush green park which is adjacent to the lake where people usually come to take an evening walk or simply sit around and relax.
For the food lovers there are ample of stalls to try the street food of Gujarat. I tried some of the amazing Gujarati snacks there. For photography bugs the park is an ideal spot to click pictures of different varieties of birds. A zoo and nature park is near to the lake. The administration of the lake needs to take care of the cleanliness of the water as to me it looked a little dirty. Overall it is a very fine spot to hang out in the evening with friends or family. After this refreshing visit to the KankariaLake, I headed back to my hotel for the night. The following day I decided to visit another important landmark of the city and a famous spiritual site, the ISKCON temple. The temple is one of the most famous Krishna temples in Ahmedabad. |
