Traveling is my best pastime when I am not studying. And I must tell you that trains in India have facilitated students like me to take up journeys which are cost effective and also lets you to discover the majestic terrains and beautiful landscapes of the great country. Me and my friends are fun loving and we love exploring new places. So how could we just leave a long holiday of ten days without doing some fun activity? I had heard a lot about Bangalore and the scenic beauty of this place. So we decided to travel to Bangalore during my festive holidays last year just before the month of December during the offshoot of winters. We took the Shatabdi Express from Chennai Central Railway Station which is just 4 kilometers away from the Chennai city. The Shatabdi Express is known for its speed and hence it was the best option for us to travel to Bangalore as it saved around one hour. The train starts at 5:30 p.m. from Chennai station and travels through the Katpadi Junction. It reaches the Bangalore Cant at around 10:10 p.m. in the night and finally at its destination in Bangalore City Junction at 10:30 p.m. The total distance between Chennai to Bangalore is just 360 kilometers. So it was just a matter of day to plan, pack our bags and start for the holiday. Moreover the Shatabdi Express served us with its quality service. We had booked our seats in 3-tier air conditioned class. And they served us hot tea/coffee, snacks, a bottle of mineral water during the journey. Traveling with a very fast speed of 150 km/hour, Shatabdi is the fastest running train in India. After reaching Bangalore, we took a bus to Majestic and stayed near the Majestic bus stand as there are numbers of budget hotels which offered us quality accommodation and services during our stay. I had heard a lot about the Bangalore city about its wide variety of fun-filled activity junctions and street shops for shopaholics like me. So we visited the famous water park Wonder La and Commercial Street. I had a good time in Wonder La with my friends while I also bought a lot of garments for the winters from Commercial Street.
